Grow your Instagram now

With more than one billion active users how can you possibly ignore Instagram…?

Are you trying Instagram but not getting the followers you hoped for? Do you need some tips to grow your Instagram? Keep reading and take action today.

Instagram Profile

When you join Instagram you create a profile. This is the bio about your business, what you do and what you offer.

Make sure that it is clear and straight to the point so that within seconds people can decide to follow or not follow you.

Look at the consistency of your social accounts so that your profile image is the same or at least matches the feel of your business.Instagram

Bullet points look great and make it easy to scan when someone is looking at your profile.

Images

Instagram is all about the images and this is how you stand out from others.

Your images should be a representation of your business. At My Sassy Business, we give you predominately red images which tie into our branding.

Do your Instagram images have a theme?

Do your images have a consistency to their look and feel?

Have you thought about UGC (user-generated content)? Many brands use this to promote their products and people love to see that a brand has shared their image or video.

Instagram Stories

A hugely popular part of Instagram is the stories. It is a great way to share instantly with your followers and to show other aspects of your business.

Some of my favourite businesses to follow are landscape and construction trades. When they use stories to give you a view of their work it shows you the pride they have.

Who are your favourite accounts to follow?

With Instagram stories, you can add your favourite stories to your highlights so that they show on your profile to be viewed anytime rather than disappearing after 24 hours.

Hashtags

If you are still unsure about Hashtags, don’t be. They are the reason that your business will get found on Instagram. People use Instagram as a search engine to find things that interest them.Grow your instagram now with hashtags

Using the right hashtags will get you found.

Make sure you use more than 12 and no more than 30. Note that 30 is the maximum allowed by Instagram. You can add these either at the end of your description or in the first comment. There is no direct benefit by doing either it just comes down to your own preference.

Instagram Geotags

Each of your posts and stories can be geotagged. This means you can tag your actual business location. You can geotag the suburb you are in, the city you are in or country.

This also means that others looking in these areas or following areas will see your posts.

Geotagging tends to result in a far high engagement compared to posts without a geotag.

What are you going to say?

Asking a question or making a statement is always necessary. Even taking the time to write a lengthy conversation piece can help to engage your audience.

When you ask a question you may just get responses – make sure you reply to them. In fact, every comment you get deserves your response.

Instagram times

It can be tricky to figure out the best time of the day to post to your account. Check your Instagram analytics to see but generally, weekdays get the best engagement. Around lunchtime 11 am – 1 pm and then in the early evening at 5 pm – 7 pm.

Use scheduling software to make it easier to be consistent. There are plenty to choose from, and many offer a free trial so that you can see if you like the platform.

Remember that consistency is going to be key. Just as with any marketing, being consistent is incredibly important. It helps with your engagement and will ultimately grow your account.

Ideally you should aim to post every day.

Take the time to engage

Yes, take the time to go and comment on other peoples posts, show genuine interest.

Check out your competitors and see who their followers are, then engage with the followers. Don’t do this in a spammy way, just some simple comments on their images or like a few to show who you are. Promoting yourself in the comments just put you in the basket with the robots that Instagram is trying to remove. Spammy comments can see you blocked or banned.
