Do you need a marketing strategy?

A marketing strategy is a process that can allow a business to concentrate its limited resources on the most significant opportunities to increase sales and achieve sustainable competitive advantage.

Which marketing strategy is the most effective?

The most effective marketing strategy is the one that helps your business to achieve its goals.

As business owners, we all have different goals and things we are trying to achieve within our businesses.

If you want to name just one strategy that works for most goals, I would say the number one marketing strategy is inbound marketing.

What Is Inbound Marketing?

Inbound marketing is a business methodology that attracts customers by creating valuable content and tailored experiences. It forms connections that your customers are already looking for and solves their problems.

Outbound marketing tends to interrupt your audience with content they don’t always want or need.

What is an inbound marketing strategy?

An inbound marketing strategy covers many areas to give your business the most significant opportunities to increase sales and achieve sustainable competitive advantage.

Goals to cover:

  • Create an online search presence
  • Drive traffic, generate leads and gain greater visibility online
  • Generate leads or sales in a hurry and raise your profile quickly
  • Build engagement and form relationships
  • Stay in touch with current and past clients

Marketing goal – Create an online search presence

SEO – Search engine optimisation is the base for all your other strategies working well online.

More than 90% of people use Google search to find the products and services they are looking for. SEO ensures that your website is optimised so that Google will index it better in the search results for what you have on offer.

Marketing goal – Drive traffic, generate leads and gain greater visibility online.

Content marketing includes blogs, videos, social media posts, podcasts, webinars, etc. Any content you can distribute online falls into the content marketing category.

The content you add to your website can be optimised for the search results (SEO) to ensure that your website appears in the search results.

Marketing goal – Generate leads or sales in a hurry and raise your profile quickly.

Google Ads or pay-per-click ads (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc.) are the most efficient way to achieve results quickly.

Note: A combination of Google Ads and social media ads can provide some of the best results.

Marketing goal – Build engagement and form relationships

Social media provides us with the opportunity for social marketing.

Choosing two or three social platforms popular with your customers/clients will give the best results.

Being consistent by posting daily and ensuring that you provide relevant information will give your business the best chance of being seen by more people.

Marketing goal – Stay in touch with current and past clients

Email marketing is the most cost-effective and efficient way to connect with your database.

Creating consistent email contact with your database keeps you top of mind when they need what you are offering.
