How to add value with Social Media

Social media is essential to small businesses and remains free and easy to use and connect with your followers.

Love it or hate it, social media for both business and personal accounts are here to stay.

Businesses and brands, both BIG and small, regularly use social media to directly enhance their actual and perceived value to their clients.

Note: You don’t have to be on every social media channel known to exist – you only have to be on the ones your ideal clients and their staff are on.

Facebook remains number one because it is used for both personal and business. Don’t discount it, as the chances are that your potential clients and their staff are using Facebook in some form.

Consistency matters

It is essential on social media to aim to post almost daily. This is the same for all social media platforms, and I recommend that you seek to post at least five times each week as a minimum.

While the reach is not as good as it once was, you should still share content consistently on your channels. Unofficially this does make a difference to your SEO results as you are producing content for the internet.

Remember to use hashtags on your posts to help people search on social media.

By delivering consistent posts to your social media accounts, you are adding value for your followers, and you are adding value to your own business.

If you share an image or a video, make sure you aim for excellent quality.

Remember, what you are sharing reflects your business. If you share quality, then people will know to expect quality. Chances are your mobile phone has the perfect camera for creating videos.

Reviews

Getting and giving reviews is excellent for your business. Ask your clients to leave reviews on your Facebook Page. Ensure you thank and like the review in appreciation for people taking their time to write it for you.

You can then use these great reviews and share them via your other channels or add them to your website.

Advertise

Yes, spend money advertising your products, services, specials, website and the things that align with your marketing strategy. With social media, you don’t have to spend a lot to get a great reach and find your ideal clients.

Social advertising allows you to be very strategic and get traffic to your website.

Strategise

Like anything to do with business, you should have some strategy regarding social media.

It is essential that you stick to that strategy so that you are consistent. Don’t try to change everything every week; build and improve your posts; your followers will appreciate it.
