Myth 3 – People only look at pictures

Yes, we all look at the pictures, but we also read subject headings and titles of topics. Make sure that yours is attractive and good quality; people will read it. Nobody wants to waste their time reading garbage that is not informative or authentic to a business or product.

Myth 4 – Content Marketing is expensive

This just does not have to be the case. You can do content marketing yourself or in-house. After all who knows what you do better than you?

You can choose to outsource, and that will cost money. Doing content marketing even in-house costs time so make sure you spend your time wisely.

Myth 6 – Content Marketing can be done for a fiver

Yes anyone can write and yes you can outsource to the lowest bidder. In the end, though it may just cost you money as you end up with someone else’s content rehashed to your own.

What you need is to provide content that helps with interaction and relationships with your clients/customers. If your brand is authentic and truthful people will be more willing to buy.

Myth 9 – I can’t record the traffic

When content marketing is based around your business goals, you can easily track what is happening. Social media give you analytics, new subscribers to your blog, Google Analytics, ask your new clients, etc. Make sure that your goals are being achieved or modify what you are doing so that your goals are getting checked off. Views or visitors must convert to sales or new business.

Myth 10 – Too much competition

Make sure that when you think about competitors for clients, that you look at similar businesses. Don’t compare yourself to McDonald’s for example. There is enough business for everyone, if your content shines above, customers will choose you.

Myth 11 – It’s on my website, and that’s it

Ideally, you want your content to be shared. You want to share it yourself but also for others to share it too. Great content will be shared!

Now it is up to you – Are you going to use content marketing?
